About the Book
Almost Super is a book about superheroes, but heroes like you’ve never met before.
Every year on Groundhog Day, assuming the groundhog sees its shadow, any Bailey over the age of 12 gets a superpower–the power they will have for the rest of their life.
Rafter and Benny Bailey are understandably excited, but nobody is prepared for the powers they receive. To say their powers are worthless would be an understatement. The dream of joining the fight against the local supervillains, a family known as the Johnsons, are crushed in a single blow.
To make matters worse Juanita Johnson, a supervillain in the brothers’ class, received her powers on the same day. The boys must return to school and face her without real powers.
But the boys are about to realize that nothing in their world makes sense anymore. Bullies who aren’t bullies. Villains who aren’t villains. Belly buttons that…well, you should read the book to find out about the belly buttons.
Join Rafter, Benny, and Juanita as they begin an adventure that leads to the discover of just exactly what it means to really be super.
