The Super Trio –> Almost Super

Many of you may have read or listened to part of my latest book, The Super Trio. I wrote it about a year ago, and since then have fallen in love with the characters and the story.

Last year I read and ‘podcast’ the entire book through my old site, thesupertrio.com (which now redirects here). At that time the book was 70 pages long. I’ve since re-written the book and it now stands at abut 270 pages. I also gave it a new name — Almost Super. I’m very excited with how the story has evolved.

I’m currently looking for a publisher, but many of you know that I love sharing my work. The thought of waiting for 2-3 years during the publishing process has me chomping at the bit.

So, I’ve started a kickstarter campaign. The basic idea is that you can go to Kickstarter, ‘donate’ a set amount, and then if we reach our goal, you’ll get a reward. In this case, the reward is a signed and numbered copy of the book. You can read more about kickstarter, and the Almost Super project, by clicking on the image.

If you want to learn more about the book, or read a few chapters, check out the links on the right side of the page.

Thanks!

If you are interested in a small publisher who works very well with new authors, you should check out Canonbridge LLC. It’s a super small operation run by a very smart cadre of people. This is my publisher, and they are publishing both of my books this year. I’m not going to be in Barnes&Noble next week, but the book will be out there, and I’ll be working just as hard in selling it as I am was in writing it. In the end, it’s all about the author and how much he’s willing to do.

Oh, chapter one was terrific! I was bummed when it ended!

I completely agree with Simply Scott. I am a children’s author and recently submitted to Canonbridge and I am so impressed with the way the company is run. Some small publishers are so great to deal with, and I believe this is the case with Canonbridge. And yes, authors need to be out there promoting and believing in their work. Good luck to all writers!

Theres really no reason for you to have to pay anything for publishing. Look into KA-BLAM.com You send in your files, order 1 copy, it goes up on their online store and into their system, and you set the price you want, people can buy from the online store (the cost of printing is subtracted from what the customer pays. and they pay for shipping.) You can also order copies for cons and such, and pay cost, and sell them for the cover price.

As far as paying for advertising campaigns, you can go to XERICFOUNDATION.ORG and after submitting, if they decide to give you a grant, that money is supplied for things like advertising.

The only thing comic creators really have to pay for anymore is the talent to do the book. Otherwise, there is no longer any reason to pay for publishing. It’s a moot point in today’s world with the technology we have.

scratch that, the kickstarter made it look like a graphic novel.

You could also throw it up on by submitting the PDF at http://www.issuu.com/ that gets a lot of traffic and helps your material make the rounds.

Love what I have seen so far.
Just wondering, but have you heard of PublishNext. They more than a self publisher, but not nearly as invasive or expensive as a big book publisher. Might help you get the hurdle of the money outlay.
